Attachment issues

I cannot get rid of these boots. After six years they're banged up and salt stained beyond repair, but incredibly comfortable and a good fit for my calves. I've tried on a dizzying number of brands in search of a replacement pair but no luck yet. A company called Duo makes a few styles in my size (33 cm circumference) but at $300-$400, they'd be a major investment. If you or anyone you know has had this issue, let me know! Anyways, I've hummed and hawed over tossing the boots for a year now. I finally took the plunge and chucked them, only to fish them out of the garbage later to take these photos. Sigh. Don't judge me. Where are the boots now? Back in my closet waiting for a bigger moment of strength.

Boots aside, I really like how this look came together, outfit, makeup and all. The light was fading fast but most of the detail is still visible. The top is from the clothes swap and used to belong to Tinfoils Tiaras. My salmon clutch was a perfect colour match. B and I got tickets to Val Halen this month and I'm contemplating wearing this!

  5. I know what you mean about boots, I finally found a pair to replace my riding boots that Id hade for five years, and after two years of searching, I still haven't found a pair of black, high heeled boots I really liked. So go ahead and keep those!
That aside, I really like this look. (It would be perfect for a Van Halen concet, which sounds insanely fun. ^_^) that shirt is so pretty, but the cut really makes it fun. And you really have the shoulders to pull off that type of look!

I find it super hard to get rid of things like that...I say hang on to them until you find a decent replacement...especially if they're super comfy.

  11. I think this would be a great Van Halen outfit! I've had problems finding boots that fit my calves and I finally found that most of the time Nine West boots seem to work. Before I discovered that though, I heard about the brand Fitzwell, which makes boots in different calf sizes. And the boots are cute too. I think around $100 a pair. But I would definitely keep the ones you love! Thanks for linking up with Thursdays are for Thrifters!

haha, I never thought of my kitchen/living room as mysterious and stunning (do you SEE our folding bridge chairs cum dining chairs) but I'll take the compliment. We do have a great view and I love the lighting in late afternoon :)
