This post is filled with positive vibes. I wasn't too fond of 2011, but 2012 is shaping up to be a pretty good year so far. These are a few of the things I'm grateful for: Today my sister got placed at her first choice of school for a medical residency program, following on the heels of B passing his masters thesis with flying colours!! :D I can't overstate how hard each of them worked to get to this point and plenty of happy tears were shed at the news (by me). Every passing week seems to bring news of friends' engagements or pregnancies, so we can look forward to plenty of celebrations. Several family members' health scares are behind them - yay! After a year in my current position, peppered with periods of insecurity, I finally feel like I'm making my mark at work. And I'm starting to see the payoffs from a better exercise regimen. Although I still hate running. Give me anything but running. Every second of every minute I'm on a treadmill, I want to get off. I have my 10K event in T-2 months so if you have any good motivation techniques let me know!! Not even the miserable weather is getting me down. I just pile on the warm layers, breathe in that icy Arctic air, navigate the treacherous sidewalks and focus on appreciating the beauty of my surroundings... Anyways, on to the clothes!
I though this skirt - a Forever 21 thift - would make a good transitional piece from work to play. The hemline is just modest enough for most business casual workplaces but the colour and ruffle detail keep things fresh and youthful. For day, I toned it down with a black turtleneck, then went for a funky vibe with the sparkly top and vest.

ReplyDeletekat, the 1st outfit is classic chic. 2nd outfit is downtown fun. don't ya just love clothes for that reason? congrats on all the great news with you, your fam, & friends. a few wks ago my friend who is a runner was so discouraged because she felt like she was training all the time, & not seeing the results she wanted. she called me yesterday saying how now she can tell that it's totally worth it. she's seeing the payoff.
