My country is having an existential crisis. You see, our pride, our identity is tangled up in our reputation as the Great White North. After the winter that never was, the eastern half of Canada is basking in record temperatures. It was 27C (80F) today, with more of the same tomorrow and Thursday. I've noticed a shift over the past decade to warmer winters, less snowfall and shorter ski and skating seasons, but for this week I decided not to fret and just live in the moment. Biking to work in shorts? Yes please! Mind you, it makes one of my upcoming posts about staying warm in the cold seem out-of-place.
This skirt dates back to my university days but I still pull it out every now and then. It has a flouncy, flirty quality that I love and adorable stitch detailing. To avoid looking too young at the office, I wore it with a velvet blazer, bold earrings and wedge heels. Speaking of age, for this post I'm linking up with Silverstyle's Trending Through the Decade - Pastel edition. And linking up with Spunky Chateau's Thursdays are for Thrifters Link Party.
Also, I seem to be removed from every blog I joined through GFC. I'm slowly joining up again, just bear with me!

Wasn't today wild?! It's like we surpassed spring and jumped straight to summer but hey I'm not complaining! I love this flirty skirt on you and those wedges are great! Plus pastel pink is a great colour on you!
ReplyDeleteyour friend makes great earrings, & you kat style a great outfit. i just say yes to that flirty skirt, romantic blouse, blazer, moccasin wedges. i like the element of bows too. :)
ReplyDeleteI heard about the high temps. Too bad it did not come to Seattle :O( Lovely outfit.
ReplyDeletevery feminine and work appropriate outfit, it's a good idea to create a more corporate look by adding a jacket. Without the jacket, you're all ready to for a date night. The pussy bow top is really sweet, I like the color, it's so flattering for your skin tone.

My dear Canadian neighbor, we hogged all the snow and cold this year! (Somehow, I think you got the better end of the deal, after record cold and record snowfalls all over the state, I'm ready for some grass and sunshine! Maybe next year we can switch, we'll let you have the snow. ^_^)
ReplyDeleteI have such a thing for blazers, and velvet blazer are even better! The real star for me is those fantastic tassled wedges, I love those! (and they work so perfect with the skirt, they look like they were made to go together.)
I wanted to say thanks for pinning my last post up on pintrest, I was so flattered when I saw that! (I was blushing! And you were so correct, I was running errands that day!)
I love all the bows and your shoes are so cool :)
ReplyDeleteI think my pinterest account reflects reality - that I'm inspired by glossy magazine images with designer clothes...but just as much by my fellow bloggers. I think that photo was actually repinned too!
