Guest post: Coco and Vera's lace sheath remix

Kat: Cee from Coco and Vera is the first francophile I've met and her passion for all things France creates a unifying thread throughout her blog. I'd describe her style as veering elegant and lady-like. I love that she's not afraid to set up personal challenges, like getting rid of all her jeans last year. She's a great writer and her blog is a pleasure to peruse. I hope you'll go visit!

Bonjour! I'm Cee from Coco and Vera. Kat, lovely and stylish lady that she is, asked me to do a guest post for her while she's is away. And not just any guest post, either - one about remixing.

If you read my blog, you might know that remixing isn't really something I excell at, sadly. I'm trying to improve, but it doesn't really come naturally for me- I'm a creature of habit. I actually swap clothes with my blogger girlfriends quite regularly to keep my wardrobe fresh, rather than rewearing the same items repeatedly. But there is one dress in my closet that I have worn more times and more ways than I can count. It's a black lace bodycon sheath from Asos. I was actually quite hesitant about buying it, but I've never regretted it for a second. In fact, I've contemplated buying it in more colours- it's just that versatile!

It works beautifully as a skirt; I never get tired of layering sweaters over it and pairing it with different tights...

But it's also a dream blouse, simple but detailed and perfectly fitted...

Sometimes, I even wear it as it was intended... as a dress! But even then, I love to add layers to it.

I think everyone should be so lucky to have something in their wardrobe that they love as much as I love my black Asos dress. I hope I can remix it for years to come!

Thanks so much to Kat for asking me to spend some time in her space, and to all of you for reading. I'd love to see you all stop by my blog :)

  2. hi Kat! i've come on over from Cee's space to check out her guest spot and soak in all it's awesome goodness. i beg to differ with the self observation of not excelling in the remix department though. a BIG beg indeed....this is fab Cee. makes me think twice about a bunch of dresses in my own closet that could maybz be as multi-functional as your gorgeous Asos has been for you. thanks for so many ideas, tonight the hunt begins : )

happy time away Kat, thanks for sharing Cee with us. you rock! ♥

  3. I love how I can't even recognize it; it really transforms and just looks like another cool lace piece. Inspiring me to break my lonely black lace top out of the closet.

  4. Oh my goodness, she is so chic and beautiful and I love how she remixed that dress. Wearing it as a blouse was mind-blowing for me. I would NEVER have thought of that.

  7. Hi, Kat! I came over from Cee blog to check her guest post. This is wonderful post I'm all about remixing old pieces with new or even old with old, because it's more challenging than just by new garment and wear.
