Raspberry-pineapple zinger

I love fruit, but sometimes I find the idea of eating it whole ...unappealing. Smoothies are a tasty alternative, but it's easy to lose track of all the extra sugar and fat in them. Cue this light, refreshing zinger of a drink with a hint of ginger. I've never been one for fizzy drinks, but I could handle this subdued version. Plus it's ridiculous easy to make: blend 2/3 cup chopped pineapple, 1/3 cup raspberries, 330mL Perrier water and 1T grated ginger. That's it! Sip and enjoy.

  1. I'm afraid that I haven't caught on to this whole add ginger to your smoothie movement. I love ginger in savory stuff, but have always associated it (in drink form) with the awful tea that we had to drink back when I was still in glee club. Is it spicy? Is it pungent? or does the fruit hide it?

    1. The taste is there, but it's more subtle than tea because it's not being infused throughout a hot liquid but rather grated right into the drink. It may not be for everyone, but there's only one way to find out!
