Trend trial run: Cropped sweater

You know the marshmallow test they do with young children? Where kids who are given a marshmallow and can refrain from eating it for 15 or 20 minutes are rewarded with a second marshmallow? I wish the same was true of the Jacob gift card I carried around for the better part of a year. A couple of weeks ago I decided to finally redeem it for a marked-down cropped sweater. Knit pieces that can be layered for work are ALWAYS great come January (at which point I'll add a blazer). I have to admit though, I'm not convinced this trend works for me, though I've always liked a strip of colour peeking out from under a top (another example here).

The jeans, bought in Geneva this summer, were a no-brainer. They fit well, look great with high heels and have cute stitching down the front and CHECK OUT THE DISCOUNT ON THE PRICE TAG BELOW!!!!

  1. kat, great bargain on the jeans. the boots got with the sweater wonderfully. i'm a color peeking at the bottom fan. your statement necklace brings it all together. even your eye make-up matches. i wonder if i would have passed the marshmallow test? probably not.

  2. Kat don't second guess yourself, this looks so stylish and not trendy at all. You look fit and fabulous in these jeans. Beautiful necklace. Dawn suitcase vignettes xo

  3. Okay, I'll bow down. You are the Queen of good deals for this, $10 down from $368? Best deal ever!
I love cropped sweaters, they're so nice for layering over dresses in the middle of winter because you don't have to worry about the pesky belt it or not question. (Sweaters are always tricky for me to belt.) They just naturally hit right about the right spot on the waistline. I really like this one on you, that bright pop of color is lovely!

And again, what a crazy deal. I need to go shopping with you and see if some of that good luck will rub off on me!
