Marine chic

Taking pictures at work is always a little embarrassing, you can't help but feel like an asshat. Luckily N and I are honing our picture-taking skills to a fine art. We are in-and-out now baby (speaking of In-and-Out, are those burgers any good? And is it true there's a secret code for extra-special deliveries to your car? And I'm not talking narcotics either)

Anyways......even N's lightning-quick shots didn't help me escape the awkward looks of the, oh, about 3,447 people showing up to a post-lunch meeting close by. But we persevered for the sake of the blog. I thrifted the belt and blazer in this outfit and wore them together for a classic red-white-and-navy combo, anchored (no pun intended) by the neutral beige skirt. I tend to stay away from full-blown red but I don't mind it in small doses. I included a picture of the white top I'm wearing under the blazer to show how I remixed an item I originally assumed was too bulky for layering. Previously that top had only ever seen the inside of bars, so I'm glad I found a new use for it.

  1. The belt makes the outfit pop! And trust me I know how some people stare while you take pictures sometimes but you do it for the sake of the blog!

  6. Another great outfit! Totally with you on the embarrassment thing - although it's just my oddball neighbor peering at me in my yard taking pictures that I have to deal with.:)
